title

Wall Street has spent the last couple of decades screwing over America. But nobody seems to have figured out yet how to screw over Wall Street.

Takers is the story of some broke young people in Brooklyn who manage to do just that. Their background is stage magic, so they know how to create illusions for entertainment. But when their shot at fame gets stolen from them by a Wall Street investor, they turn to con artistry to fund their revenge scheme. If Wall Street can con America, then they are going to con Wall Street – to take from the finance bros and CEOs who rule America.

But the concept of the show isn't just about watching Wall Street people get screwed over. It is also about a larger question: what happens to people who get money? What happens to someone like our protagonist Ben, who has slept on the streets for Occupy Wall Street, when he suddenly has five thousand dollars in his pocket? How does he manage the guilt? Does he treat himself to a nicer apartment? At what point does he start to turn into his enemy?

Takers is a one-hour dramedy that serves as a layer-by-layer examination of that question: Is it possible to hold onto your values when you have a huge wad of cash? And in the meantime, will our flawed but wellintentioned con artists get caught before they realize that they are on a long and slippery moral slope to becoming the people they despise?

A plan for all 13 episodes of Season 1, a character/series bible, and a complete script for the second episode are available upon request.
